About Us
Translating principles of nanoscale science, electrochemistry, quantum mechanics, and optics to build devices and instruments for applications in medicine, catalysis, and energy.
The flag ship instrument called the Scanning Electrometer for Electrical Double-layer (SEED) is a unique tool to quantitatively map hundreds of electrochemical reactions on a monolith electrode, for applications such as liquid biopsy for early detection of cancer, and studies to identify biomarkers for diagnosis and therapeutics, vaccine development.
The sample size of the analyte solution for SEED analysis can be as small as 10 microliter. The multiplexing will allow detection of 10's of analyte in a solution on the same electrode. SEED has a published sensitivity of less than 300 molecules on a single electrode at high specificity.

Additionally, SEED can perform conventional electrochemical analysis such as, cyclic voltammetry, AC voltammetry, and differential pulse voltammetry on the same electrode without moving the sample or electrode. SEED is a desktop instrument with a single electronic module providing a one stop solution to broad range of high precision electrochemical-analytical needs for medicine, R & D, and manufacturing.

SEED is a disruptive technology that has been peer reviewed in publications by experts both as fundamental research at UNL and applications developed at Vajra Instruments.

Applications - combinatorial electrochemistry on a single electrode for material genome; quantitative microarray; multimode electrochemical analysis; liquid biopsy; microfluidics; potential of zero charge; surface modification; single base mutation; and DNA and RNA binding kinetics.
